Master Rodrigo Valenzuela was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa Mexico on September 17, 1973.
At fourteen years of age, Rodrigo began practicing Kung Fu and continued studying the discipline for four years, obtaining the navy blue belt, which is one belt behind the black belt.
At eighteen years of age he moved to Nogales, Sonora Mexico job hunting and in March 1992, under the instruction of Master Abraham Perez, he began practicing Tae Kwon Do. Due to his previous knowledge of martial arts, Rodrigo quickly went up in the ranks (belts).
In April of 1994 Master Perez offered him the opportunity to become an instructor in his academy. He remained there until December 2000. In 2000 Rodrigo immigrated to the USA, moving to Dahlgren, Virginia and continued practicing Tae Kwon Do at La Plata Maryland under the instruction of Master Scott Fiorillo.
Master Rodrigo Valenzuela opened his first Tae Kwon Do Academy in December 2008 in Rio Rico AZ. Unfortunately, due to the economic hardships that the area was going thru at the time, the academy was force to close its doors.
Despite the academy’s closing, Master Rodrigo continued teaching. He taught in garages, parks and basically anywhere his students would follow. Finally, in January 2011 it became possible to re-open the academy at its current location.
At this time Master Rodrigo Valenzuela is a 2nd Dan in Tae Kwon Do ITF and 6th Dan Tae Kwon Do WTF. He is furthering his studies with Grand Master Young J Choi 7th Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do WTF at his Phoenix AZ location.
